What are the requirements to rent an Ebike?
The rider needs to be at least 16 years old, possess a valid state ID or driver’s permit, and know how to ride a pedal bike. A legal guardian must be present to sign the waiver for any rider under 18.
To rent an ebike, you’ll need to present a photo ID and a credit card.
What types of payment do you accept?
The only accepted payment method for booking and renting an e-bike is credit cards, though we welcome cash and card payments for merchandise and other goods in our retail shop.
Are helmets and bike lock included?
All riders receive complimentary helmets and bike locks with their ebikes, although a replacement fee applies for any non-returned or severely damaged items.
Is it mandatory to wear helmets?
Absolutely, all wild riders must wear helmets, and you’re encouraged to bring your own.
Can we ride our ebikes directly from the store to the Pine Creek Rail Trail?
We are just half a mile from the Ansonia access area, offering customers convenient free parking.
How many miles can an ebike go with a fully charged battery?
Our ebikes typically offer a range of 25-40 miles per charge, influenced by factors like pedal assist, throttle use, rider weight, terrain, and hills. To extend your range, use a low pedal assist level (0-2) and limit throttle use.
Riders should keep in mind that these are bicycles, so to conserve battery life, it’s important to pedal instead of relying too much on the twist throttle, which drains the battery quicker than pedal assist.
For the best experience, we suggest utilizing the throttle for initial acceleration from a complete stop and primarily relying on pedal assist and the gear shifter to strike a balance between your effort and battery life.
Does pedaling charge the battery?
The battery must be connected to a power outlet in order to charge.
Can I rent extra batteries?
Unfortunately, extra batteries are not available for rent.
What if the battery dies?
When the battery runs out, the ebikes can still be pedaled, though it’s more challenging than riding a conventional bike. To avoid a dead battery on the trail, we suggest modifying your riding approach or heading back as soon as the first member of your group has used half of their battery. Every ebike has a control pad that displays the battery level, so riders can gauge the battery level at all times.
There will be a $35 fee for delivering a fully charged battery along the trail.
What should I do if I end up with a flat tire?
All of our bikes include puncture resistant tires. If you do happen to get a flat tire during your rental, contact us at the phone number provided on the map and we’ll take care of it. If we have other bikes available, we may have you switch for another.
Where can we collect the bikes?
The pickup location is at the retail shop, 5426 Route 6, Wellsboro, PA; please proceed there for check-in and have your driver’s license ready for scanning.
What time should we arrive for our reservation?
We kindly ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your check-in to give our helpful bikehands a chance to go over how the ebikes work, make any necessary equipment adjustments, and address any questions you may have.
Now is an excellent opportunity to grab a snack, refill your water bottles, or collect any personal items you’d like to take, and feel free to ask our Bikehands to snap some photos of our Wild Riders!
Do you have trail maps on hand?
All riders will be provided with a free map of the Pine Creek Rail Trail, thanks to our partnership with Visit Potter-Tioga PA.
When do we return the bikes?
Please return bikes, helmets, and locks to the drop-off location at 5426 Route 6 Wellsboro, PA, by the agreed time to avoid late fees and potential replacement charges for any missing or damaged items.
Which class do the ebikes belong to?
All rental ebikes are Class 2, featuring an electric throttle that enables riders to operate them without pedaling. Class 2 E-bikes are allowed on DCNR lands, but exclusively using the electric motor without pedaling is not allowed on non-motorized trails. For details about the internal policy on electric bicycle usage in state parks and forests, please check the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources website.
What are the dimensions of the front basket?
Dimensions: 10.6″L x 13.7″ W x 5.5″H
Front basket payload: payload: 22 lbs
Feel free to bring your own travel bag and cooler.
Can we load the ebikes into our vehicle?

What happens if I accidentally damage the bike?
Renters consent to cover any damages that occur during their rental as outlined in our waiver.
Do you sell ebikes?
We don’t sell Rad Power ebikes, but we recommend inquiring about our referral program if you’re interested in purchasing one.
