How many miles can an ebike go with a fully charged battery?
The battery gives most of our ebikes a range of between 25-45 miles on a single charge depending on riding characteristics: how much pedal assist and throttle is used, amount of weight carried, terrain, and hills. You can increase your range by sticking to a low level of pedal assist (0-2) and minimizing throttle usage.
However, riders need to remember that these are bicycles, and a level of effort will be required in order to preserve your battery. While it’s tempting to use the twist throttle, this feature should be used sparingly, as it drains the battery much faster than any level of pedal assist. If you want to use the throttle, then we recommend using it for initial acceleration from a dead stop. Otherwise, we recommend mainly using the pedal assist and gear shifter to optimize the balance between your effort and battery life.
Does pedaling charge the battery?
No, the battery need to be plugged into a power outlet to be powered.
What class are the Ebikes?
All Ebikes available for rent are Class 2. Class 2 Ebikes are equipped with an electric throttle that allows the user to operate the bike without pedaling. Class 2 Ebikes are permitted on DCNR lands, but using the electric motor exclusively to move an e-bike
without pedaling is prohibited on non-motorized trails. For more information on the internal policy for the use of electric bicycles on state park and forest lands, visit the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Can we put the Ebikes in our vehicle?
