E-Bike Safety & Trail Etiquette

✅ Ride at a comfortable, controlled speed

✅ Adjust your speed for trail and weather conditions

✅ Keep both hands on the handlebars

✅ Stay aware of other trail users

E-bikes are quiet and faster than traditional bikes. Riding predictably and in control helps keep the trail safe for everyone.

✅ Stay to the right and pass on the left

✅ Use a friendly bell or greeting when passing

✅ Yield to pedestrians

✅ Slow down in busy or narrow areas

The Pine Creek Rail Trail is a shared-use trail enjoyed by walkers, runners, families, and cyclists. Courtesy goes a long way.

✅ Pedal assist is encouraged

✅ Avoid sudden acceleration near others

✅ Ride single file when the trail is busy

✅ Limit distractions and keep your hearing clear

Motor assistance should support your ride — not surprise other trail users.

✅ Helmets are strongly recommended for adults

✅ Use the paved rail trail and designated bike paths

✅ Avoid horse and wagon paths

✅ Be cautious of uneven surfaces between trail sections

Horse and wagon paths are designated for equestrian use and may contain uneven terrain and natural debris. These areas can be unstable for bikes—especially trikes—and include a raised or uneven surface between trail sections.
